What different locks are available?

The different types of locks are: -Cable lock - using a cable available in varying lengths and thicknesses. They are easy to store away in a pannier or to attach to your bike (PRODUCT LINK). -U-lock - u-shaped system. They are rigid and more solid, but cannot encompass the whole bike (wheels and frame). Some combine the two to have the most secure solution. There are also different types of locks: -Key -Combination Finally, we have developed anti-theft fittings to prevent your tyres or seat post being stolen.

What are your different technologies?

The Z-Safe boasts a double-locking anti-theft system. Increased resistance from impacts and the bike being rotated. The Z-Safe Ball is an adjustable 4-digit code system. It offers increased protection against being stolen thanks to its good resistance to attacks. Quadruple locking system that is high performing. The Z-Safe + is the most advanced of all our anti-theft systems.

How do I attach a Zéfal lock device to my bike?

Our locks are supplied with a mounting clip for attaching to the bike tube. We advise that it is put on the seat post on the inside of the frame.

What is the best way to protect my bike against being stolen?

The best way to protect your bike against theft is to ensure that one or several locks are correctly used and are fixed to something solid. The saddle, wheels and frame must all be protected. It is best to avoid leaving it for too long in the same place and to take advantage of busy streets.

Is there such a thing as a 100 %-sure anti-theft device ?

 Unfortunately, no lock is 100% safe. The best locks are those that make it as difficult as possible for as long as possible for an amateur thief. The best solution is to encompass the whole of the bike and to fix it to something solid. The K-TRAZ U13 CABLE combines the 2 systems (cable and U-lock) to provide maximum security. 

What level of security do Zéfal locks offer ?

Our locks offer different levels of security depending on the materials used, the system and the type (Cable-lock devices or U-lock devices). For each locks device, we have designed a security level to help you with your choice.

It is difficult to turn the key, it catches in the lock or gets stuck. What should i do ?

Use a spray in the lock and grease it as well which will make it turn more easily and maintains it. We recommend our All in 1 spray or graphite powder.

How can i get a new key ?

Please contact our after-sales team by email in order to get a new key: sav@zefal.com. Let them know your lock model and its unique serial number. Unfortunately without this information, we will be unable to produce your key.

How else can i protect my bike as well as an anti-theft device ?

Other suggestions to prevent you bike being stolen are: - Leave it in a street with passers-by so that thieves don’t have time to act. - Don’t leave your bike in the same place for too long. - Have your bike marked by a company who willhelp you find  it if stolen

What are the dimensions of K-Traz F16 and K-Traz F16L when folded and stored in their cases ?

K-Traz F16: length 185 mm, width 65 mm, thickness 45 mm.

K-Traz F16L: length 185 mm, width 75 mm, thickness 45 mm.

How should i clean the rear-view mirrors ?

You just need to use a clean, soft piece of material to clean the rear-view mirrors; the same as the one used for glasses.  Cleaning products can be used. The use of acetone is not advisable.

How to choose a rear-view mirror ?

Choosing your rear-view mirror depends on several factors:-  Level of visibility required - How it is mounted - Shape of the bar. The following table summarises the different models and helps you chose the one best suited to you

Which rear-view mirrors are interchangeable ?

All our rear-view mirrors can be installed on the left or the right except the DOOBACK 2 (which has a left and right version).

I can't attach rear-view mirrors to my handles, what do you suggest ?

If your bar can’t have rear-view mirrors on the handles, you can use the SPY. This rear-view mirror can be clipped on to different points of your bike (handlebars, bar-ends …). 

Which mirror can be attached to the ergon handles without damaging them  ?

If you can remove the cap at the end of the bar, you can use our Cyclop or Dooback mirrors. If you can't do that we recommend the Spy mirror or the Espion Z56.

What is the width and height of the Cyclop?

The height is 105 mm and the width is 60 mm.

What is the length of the Espion Z56?

The length is 200 mm.

How do I install the handlebar mirrors or Z Bar Plugs?

If your bike has grips without plugs on the handlebars, we recommend that you carefully cut off the end of the grip so that you can install our mirrors / Z Bar Plugs.
