The different types of locks are:
- Cable lock - using a cable available in varying lengths and thicknesses. They are easy to store away in a pannier or to attach to your bike.
- U-lock - u-shaped system. They are rigid and more solid, but cannot encompass the whole bike (wheels and frame).
Some combine the two to have the most secure solution.
There are also different types of locks:
- Key
- Combination
Finally, we have developed anti-theft fittings to prevent your tyres or seat post being stolen.

Z-SAFE LOCK’N ROLL
| Awarded the Gold Award at Eurobike 2008, the Lock’N Roll anti-theft device has a patented and innovative locking skewer system. In its normal position (horizontal), the quick removal of the wheels and the seat post is automatically locked. It’s only by putting the bike in a vertical position that it will unlock. A special washer stops it being unscrewed even using a tool. The wheel anti-theft device stops the quick release of the wheels. The seat-post anti-theft device stops it being unscrewed. |
Z-SAFE | The Z-Safe boasts a double-locking anti-theft system. Increased resistance from impacts and the bike being rotated. |
Z-SAFE BALL | The Z-Safe Ball is an adjustable 4-digit code system. It offers increased protection against being stolen thanks to its good resistance to attacks. |
Z-SAFE + | Quadruple locking system that is high performing. The Z-Safe + is the most advanced of all our anti-theft systems. |
Our locks are supplied with a mounting clip for attaching to the bike tube. We advise that it is put on the seat post on the inside of the frame.
Below is a photo of it in use.
For the K-Traz A20 and K-Traz A25 locks, we recommend that they are put on a saddle bag. You can also install the lock with an elastic strap to your Zéfal pannier holder.
The best way to protect your bike against theft is to ensure that one or several locks are correctly used and are fixed to something solid. The saddle, wheels and frame must all be protected. It is best to avoid leaving it for too long in the same place and to take advantage of busy streets.
Unfortunately, no lock is 100% safe. The best locks are those that make it as difficult as possible for as long as possible for an amateur thief. The best solution is to encompass the whole of the bike and to fix it to something solid.
The K-Traz U13 Cable combines the 2 systems (cable and U-lock) to provide maximum security.
Our locks offer different levels of security depending on the materials used, the system and the type (Cable-lock devices or U-lock devices).
For each locks device, we have designed a security level to help you with your choice.
Our Lock'N Roll anti-theft device is the most effective and discrete system for protecting your saddle and the wheels of your bike. The Lock’N Roll anti-theft device has a patented and innovative locking skewer system. In its normal position (horizontal), the quick removal of the wheels and the seat post is automatically locked. It’s only by putting the bike in a vertical position that it will unlock. A special washer stops it being unscrewed even using a tool. The seat-post anti-theft device stops it being unscrewed and for the wheels, it stops the quick release.
Note: the Lock’N Roll system does not stop your bike being stolen. You still need to attach your bike to a solid point with a suitable anti-theft device.
Use a spray in the lock and grease it as well which will make it turn more easily and maintains it. We recommend our All-in-1 spray or graphite powder.
